Introduce :
1. Elderflowers have been used as a cosmetic preparation since ancient Egypt and they have also been traditionally made into a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, popular even today.
2. The flowers are made into cordials, herbal teas, carbonated drinks and Elderflower "champagne". They are sometimes combined with Chamomile for a calming tea. Elderflowers are a classic flu remedy and used to calm colds, infections and fevers.
3. Infusions and soothing waters made from Elderflowers have been used to soften skin, treat acne, blemishes, rashes and sunburn. Some old recipes also exist for using Elderflower water to "fade freckles and wrinkles". The herb is astringent and contains a substance called Eldrin, which is a type of Bioflavonoid also known as Rutin or vitamin P.
