Coriander originates from the eastern Mediterranean although today it is cultivated around the world. Its tasty and medicinal characteristics have been recognised for more than 3,000 years and it was first mentioned in the Old Testament.
Coriander seeds taste mildly spicy, sweet, nutty, mildly hot and burning and are reminiscent of orange peel and cinnamon.
