Soybean oil is a pale yellow oil extracted from soybeans; soluble in alcohol, chloroform, and ether. It is used in glycerin and soap manufacturing, paiints, rubber substitutes, plastics, printing inks, feeds, in food industry. It is hydrogenated by ctalytic reaction to form solid fats. Hydrogenated soybean oil is used as a food supplement, a lubricant in tablet manufacturing and in pharmaceutical industries.
