S355J2+N steel is one grade in EN10025-2 with low alloy.S355J2+N (minimum yield strength 355 MPa, Tensile 470 to 630 MPa,+N means plus Normalized when rolling,J2 means doing charpy V-notch impacting test @ -20 ℃).
Firstly we suggest steel grade equivalent S355J2+N is ship steel plate ASTM A131 GR.DH36 (minimum yield strength 355 MPa, Tensile 490 to 620 Mpa, heat treatment under normalized or TMCP, charpy V-notch impacting test @ -20 ℃).Then ASTM A131 Gr.EH36 (minimum yield strength 355 MPa, Tensile 490 to 620 Mpa, heat treatment under normalized or TMCP, charpy V-notch impacting test @ -40 ℃) is also ok and even better than S355J2+N.
The same techincals as A131 GR.DH36 and EH36,ABS Grade DH36 and ABS Grade EH36 are both ok for replacing of S355J2+N.
Second we can suggest you choose alloy structural steel ASTM A572Gr50 (minimum yield strength 345 MPa, Tensile above 450 MPa).Of course adding techincals Normalized heat treatment and Charpy V-notch impacting test -20 centigrade for A572Gr50 when ordered.
Besides,DIN 17100 St52-3 N (minimum yield strength 345 MPa, Tensile above 490-630 MPa) is also one low alloy steel. GB/T1591 Q345D (minimum yield strength 345 MPa,Tensile above 470-630 MPa,D meas done Charpy V-notch impacting at minus 20 centigrade)
Gnee steel confirmed The Equivalence is not meaning The Same.So doing any replacement for steel grades in any project,it have to get through from all contracted sides.
