Corrugated Steel Beam Guard Rail Safety Barriers with Delineators

Corrugated steel beam barriers (CSBBs) are traffic barrier systems designed to absorb impact and deflect vehicles away from a structure without causing catastrophic failure of the barrier or significant damage to the vehicle. They are constructed of high strength steel beams with corrugations that fold in on impact, allowing the system to absorb the energy of a vehicle while limiting the amount of damage done to both the barrier and the vehicle. CSBBs are primarily used to protect critical infrastructure, such as bridges, highways, and power plants, from vehicle-borne attacks. These barriers are also often used to prevent large vehicles from leaving roads and highways. Compared to traditional concrete barriers, CSBBs are less likely to cause serious injury to drivers in the event of a crash, and are much more cost-effective to install and maintain. Furthermore, CSBBs can be quickly and easily reconfigured to change the size and shape of the barrier as needed.

We supply corrugated steel beams for safety barrier contracting company and state network highway projects in various countries.

3- Guardrail shall overlap in the direction of the traffic flow.

4- Flare offset shall be 1140mm minimum.

5- Where the guardrail has to follow a curve of less than 45m radius, the beams shall be curved accordingly.

6- The holes for end posts shall be backfilled with well compacted granular material. The space inside the terminal nose shall be filled wth concrete.

Fabrication, supply and installation of corrugated steel beams, posts, anchorages and connections for safety barrier and delineators

Corrugated Steel Beam Safety Barrier
Including:
Safety barrier guard rail steel beam

Safety barrier guard rail post

End anchorage

Construction Requirements

Where guard rail is to be installed in rock strata, and excavation by ordinary means is not possible, 0.25m dia holes shall be drilled with approval of the Engineer. These holes shall be backfilled using concrete class 12/20. In no case cutting of post shall be allowed to facilitate the fixation.

Where guard rail is to be installed on top of a concrete wall or parapet, the post shall be cut to the dimensions shown on the drawings and welded with 25025010 mm thick base plate. Plate shall be shop welded and holes punched prior to galvanizing by the manufacturer. Post shall be then fixed on the concrete foundation using four (4) number raw! bolts of 16mm dia, each 150mm long. The Contractor may choose to use this method of fixation in rock strata with prior approval of the Engineer at no extra cost to the Employer.

End rail anchorage at approach and departure ends of the safety barrier shall include sloping beam of the safety barrier, terminal nose and Intermediate & end anchor posts.

Materials

Beams. Washers and bolts shall conform to the requirements of AASHTO M 180. Beams shall be type 1 Class 3.

The beams shall be completely formed, punched with holes for mounting and splicing, and ready for assembly when delivered. They shall be of uniform corrugated section, straight or curved as required. Beams to be erected on a radius of 45m or less.

Galvanising shall be carried out after fabrication and each element and end sections shall be marked at the point of fabrication with the manufacturer's name or trademark, gauge and heat number, and with the coating lot reference.

Concrete for footings and anchorages shall be grade 20 in accordance with relative requirements.
