Black currants are commonly used in making jams, jelly, juice, cordial and liquor. Black currants are used as a drug for fatigue related visual impairment and treating arthritis. Black currents’ paste is considered effective in curing skin disorders.
Black berries are also dried and used in cakes for adding flavor. The oil of the black currant’s seeds is rich in gamma- linolenic acid which is primarily found in vegetable oils.
