The Nicolet iS5 spectrometer is designed to withstand a wider range of temperature and humidity conditions than those found in a typical laboratory. Vibration, electromagnetic interference (EMI), dust, and even tilt were all considered in the design of this instrument.
The Nicolet iS5 spectrometer delivers outstanding performance in raw materials inspection and in the identification of unknowns. An intuitive user interface and high signal-to-noise ensure accurate results with no need for spectroscopy expertise. Different sensitivity levels account for allowable variations in raw materials. Normal sensitivity QCheck gives you high confidence in PASS/FAIL material inspections of natural and other small variation products; the high sensitivity QCheck accommodates high confidence PASS/FAIL material inspection of synthetic and other highly consistent products.
For compounds and mixtures, when PASS/FAIL does not provide sufficient information, the OMNIC™ Specta™ software includes a patented algorithm that greatly improves the contaminants analysis and identifies all compounds in a multiple-ingredient material. Additional software features include data collect, stacked/overlaid displays, cursors, peakpick, peak height/area, subtraction, electronic lab notebook, and macro programming.
Performance verification is ensured by automatic testing to ASTM E1421 specifications to meet ISO and GMP requirements. Optical alignment is also automatic, with dynamic alignment for continuous signal optimization.
The small footprint takes up minimal lab space with dimensions of 13.5"W x 10.9"D. The small size also allows for movement from location to location, weighing just 22 lb (10 kg).
The iS5 includes the iD1 transmission accessory for samples in liquid cells, gas cells, pellet holders, or cuvettes; supporting cells up to 10-cm in length. The IR source, power supply, desiccants and sample compartment windows are all easily user-replaceable without exposing internal components—reducing maintenance and ownership costs.
