The Sapodilla is a round or ovals shaped fruit. It consists of 1 to 3 large glossy black seeds. The colour of the fruit resembles the colour of the potato. The skin of the fruit is thin and brown. Its flesh is soft, sweet, juicy and pulpy. The Sapodilla grows in clusters. IT is called CHICKOO in INDIA. It is an excellent source of iron.
