Aramid Fiber Rods ARP Rods for Fiber Optic Cables
Strength member for fiber optic cables, usually located at the center of fiber optic cables, is one important component of fiber optic cables by supporting optic fiber bundle and enhancing cables tensile strength.Aramid Fiber Rod/ ARP rod is a new type of high performance non-metallic composite material. It is made by thermal pultrusion technique which combines complex resin as body material with aramid fiber as strength member at a certain ratio. Without drawbacks of traditional metallic strength member, ARP rod features excellent anti-corrosion, electromagnetic interference free, high tensile strength, lower weight, super flexibility and bending property, hard to break, especially suitable for the Access Network outdoor to indoor cabling, which are now widely used in complicated indoor wiring even in narrow small space.Application
Central strength member for fiber optical Distribution Cables, Breakout Cables, FTTx Cables, etc.ARP Rod Features
1) Compared with FRP rod, ARP rod has lower density, lower weight, higher tensile strength and higher modulus. Also, ARP rod is of low stretch, low expansion, wide range of temperature settings.
2) Insensitive to electric shock, excellent insulation, immune to electromagnetic interference, suitable for the area with frequent lightning and raining.
3) Free from chemical corrosion. Compared with metal wire, ARP rod eliminates harmful gas, which can negatively affect cables transmission quality, born chemically by metal and filling gel.
4) Optic cables with ARP rods are available to be installed tight close to power wire and power units, free from induction current interference. The transmission efficiency can be improved accordingly.
5) Super flexibility and bending property, better than FRP, difficultly broken, stable sizes and shaping, easy processing and easy installation, especially suitable for the Access Network and complicated indoor cabling and wiring even in narrow small space.
6) Impact resistance and fracture resistance, ultra-high tensile strength. Even in case of breakage ARP rod still maintains tensile strength above 1300MPa without change of modulus, no damage to sheath which protects optic fibers.Aramid Rod SpecificationNormal Diameter Φ (mm) Coated and UncoatedCore0.400.50Coated0.450.58Normal Length
