Properties:Sodium pyrophosphate anhydrous is white powder form; Easy to absorb moisture and deliquesce, but insoluble in ethanol; Relative density 2.45g/cm3 and melting point 890 ; Deliquescent in the open air. Its aqueous solution shows weak alkalinity but will be hydrolyzed into di-sodium phosphate when boiled .
Sodium pyrophosphate 10H2O is white needle crystals and it soluble in water, insoluble in alcohol, aqueous solution is alkaline. Easy to weathered in dry air.
