In Sekkingstad’s whole salmon process, the fish are harvested, cleaned and packed on ice within 40 minutes. The salmon can be processed, packed and graded to customer specifications. Combined with the company’s “on-line” fresh processing, blast freezers are used to maintain the superb meat quality of its frozen products. The salmon is frozen before it reaches rigor mortis to support the slogan ‘fresher than fresh.’ Both fresh and frozen salmon can be delivered gutted head on or head off.
